Food as Fuel - Nutrition Workshop

We hear each of you talk every day about your goals within the CrossFit world. Some of you crave your first muscle-up, to string together double-unders, and for higher numbers in certain lifts. Most of you are great about putting in the physical labor towards these dreams, but without a dialed-in nutrition plan, you may be robbing yourself of your true capacity.

In the broad scope of nutrition, CrossFit recommends a diet of “meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and NO sugar.” Following this guideline is a sure way to get on the right track as far as nutrition goes. But, there is another step you can take towards fueling your body specifically for your goals and needs.

To discover your true peak performance potential in the gym, the CrossFit methodology recommends the Zone Diet. The Zone diet encourages individuals to compose each meal and snack with 40% nutrients from carbohydrates, 30% from protein, and 30% from healthy fats. To ensure proportions are correct, the Zone Diet encourages scaling food prior to consumption.

Now, scaling food is a big step towards your nutrition goals. For some, this may be scary. Don’t worry! This month, CrossFit Glynco will be holding a Nutrition Workshop where you can learn the ins and outs of working your numbers, macro counting, measuring food, and making it ACTUALLY maintainable.

Join us March 23rd at 10:30 am to discover how easy fueling your body can really be.
